Recorded April 17th, 2011. Things have gotten much greener outside since then. It was quite windy that day, so I wanted to test how well the "wind screen" feature of my Canon FS200 works. Basically when the wind noise gets too loud, it sums the audio to mono, which reduces (but does not eliminate) the rustling noise. When the wind calms down, it gradually returns to full stereo. This is much better than JVC's manual "wind cut" option -- which filters out the low frequencies all the time, even when the wind isn't blowing, and does not sum the audio to mono -- but not as good as Sony's automatic wind noise reduction, which sums the audio to mono and filters out the low frequencies when the wind is blowing, which almost eliminates any rustling noise.

This is a test video of the Canon FS200 Flash camcorder "Video Snapshot Mode" The FS200 Video Snapshot Mode allows you to shoot a series of short 4-second movie clips. After pushing the "Video Snap" button on the side of the camcorder, a blue border appears in the viewfinder. When the record button is pushed, the blue border becomes a timer disappearing completely after the 4-second snapshot. This video was edited with Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0. It imported the FS200 native .MOD file without issue. The 16:9 widescreen ratio was kept after adjusting the project setting "before" creating the project file. NOTE: Hmmmm. This doesn't appear widescreen. Wonder what happned? The music that was used in this test video was included on the Canon FS200 CD. It is entitled, "Wiegenfied."
